Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom is gearing up for its most significant expansion, featuring new lands themed around Disney villains and the Cars franchise. This expansion will introduce two new attractions, along with dining and shopping experiences, bringing these iconic stories to life in exciting new ways.
The Cars franchise will debut with two thrilling attractions: an off-road rally race and a family-friendly ride, suitable for all ages. As one of Disney's most successful franchises, Cars has grossed $1.4 billion globally and inspired the popular Radiator Springs at Disney California Adventure Park in Anaheim, California.
Disney's Animal Kingdom will expand with a new land inspired by the Tropical Americas. Guests can explore Pueblo Esperanza, a fictional rainforest village, and join Indiana Jones on an adventure inside a Maya temple.
The expansion will also feature the first Encanto ride-through attraction, set in Casita, after Antonio receives his gift.
At Disney's Hollywood Studios, a new Monsters Inc. land will debut, including the park's first suspended coaster. This addition will allow guests to explore the Laugh Factory and immerse themselves in the world of Monsters, Inc., celebrating themes of friendship and laughter.
Disneyland Resort will expand Disney California Adventure with two new Marvel E-ticket attractions, doubling Avengers Campus.
Additionally, a new Avatar attraction, inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water, will offer a thrilling, innovative experience, reflecting Disney's ambitious growth strategy.
"Disney Experiences is embarking on an accelerated path of ambitious growth and innovation," he said. "With so many great Disney stories to tell, we're excited to bring an unprecedented number of new projects to life in the near future," commented Disney Experiences Chairman Josh D'Amaro.
He continued, "Today, we unveiled an extensive slate of new experiences that only Disney can deliver. Work is well underway on all of the new projects we announced, and fans will start to see them come to life in the near future."
