Amazon
Customers were able to snag millions of items throughout this holiday shopping season, with popular items including Apple
On both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Amazon was able to score some major deals. "This was a record-breaking holiday shopping weekend for Amazon. Customers shopped millions of deals this weekend and we have many more amazing deals to come," Doug Herrington, CEO, WW Amazon Stores, said in a statement. "Thank you to our customers for choosing to shop on Amazon, and to our employees and selling partners around the world who are delivering for customers every day."
In terms of the specific items that Amazon was able to sell, the top categories were Home, Fashion, Toys, Beauty, and Amazon devices. According to CNBC, several analysts foresaw that there would be future concerns from Americans in terms of inflation and the general cost of living. But it looks as though these factors did not prevent Amazon from obtaining success during this holiday season.
In terms of independent businesses on Amazon, they went far beyond $1 billion throughout the Thanksgiving holiday shopping weekend, according to the company. Adobe Analytics has reported that customers have spent over $9.12 billion this past Black Friday, which went up by 2.3% in just one year alone.
Thus far, statistics and figures from Adobe Analytics and other research companies indicate that customers are openly looking for special deals, and are especially attracted to deals coming from various retailers. This past Tuesday, the National Retail Federation conducted a survey that revealed that most customers are approximately 50% finished with holiday shopping. This means that more groundbreaking sales could potentially occur in the weeks ahead.
