Amazon.Com, Inc (AMZN  ) has expanded its grocery delivery service to non-Prime U.S. members following earlier tests this year, which delivered pleasantly surprising results, quipped Amazon Fresh VP Claire Peters in an interview.

The move also intensifies competition with Walmart Inc (WMT  ).

As the company plans to open additional supermarkets next year, this service will be available wherever Amazon Fresh operates, Bloomberg cites from the interview.

Delivery fees for non-Prime shoppers will range from $4.95 - $13.95, whereas Prime members face charges of $6.95 - $9.95, with free delivery on orders exceeding $100.

Peters said that delivery from Whole Foods Market stores is also coming to non-Prime subscribers shortly.

Lately, Amazon has expanded into physical stores to tap the consumers who prefer to visit stores instead of online shoppers.

Peters shared the e-commerce company's plans to resume opening new Fresh stores in 2024 after a pause of over a year.

Amazon also has redesigned five locations, including three in the Los Angeles area that wrapped up renovations recently.

Tony Hoggett, the head of groceries at Amazon, paused new store openings last year to overhaul the company's fresh-food approach. Hoggett and his team decided to revamp the stores, enhancing the variety of products.

Price Action: AMZN shares traded lower by 0.16% at $141.85 premarket on the last check Thursday.
