Unions representing Apple Inc (AAPL  ) Store employees in France demand a 7% pay increase during the iPhone 15 launch, coinciding with the new model's release. The group of unions includes CGT, Unsa, CFDT, and CFTC.

They argue that this raise is essential to counter inflation. Apple France has offered a 4.5% pay increase in response to the demand, Bloomberg reports.

The strike will involve various forms of industrial action across the country's 20 Apple Stores, including some employees halting work for one hour and a demonstration planned outside the Paris Opera store.

Amazon.Com Inc (AMZN  ) U.S. and U.K. have been battling union protests over pay, especially during the holiday season.

U.K. warehouse workers shared plans to protest in 2023, coinciding with Amazon's "Prime Day" sales event on July 11-12.

Last week, the United Auto Workers (UAW) union members walked off the job to begin the first-ever simultaneous strikes against the "Detroit Three" automakers, including General Motors (GM  ) and Stellantis (STLA  ), Chrysler's parent company after disagreeing on new contracts. The union is demanding a 40% hike in pay, an end to a tiered wage system, and a return to defined-benefit pensions.
