General Motors Deepens AI Partnership With Google, Deploys Chatbots Using Dialogflow Technology

General Motors Company (NYSE: GM) is leveraging Alphabet Inc's (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) Google Cloud Dialogflow technology to deploy chatbots that can conversationally help answer customer questions about GM vehicles.

With this technology, customers can get quick answers to questions like, "Tell me more about GM's 2024 EV lineup," or learn how to take advantage of new technology features in their vehicle, the company said.

The partnership with Google has been for years, but this time, the focus is on future generative AI explorations to boost growth.

"We're looking forward to a deepened relationship and more collaboration with GM as we explore how the company uses generative AI in transformational ways," said Thomas Kurian, CEO, Google Cloud.

Since its launch last year, GM's OnStar Interactive Virtual Assistant (IVA) has been powered by Google Cloud's conversational AI technologies for navigational assistance.

Price Action: GM shares are trading higher by 0.42% to $33.26 on the last check Tuesday.
