Beginning in spring 2022, General Motors (NYSE: GM) will launch an online used car marketplace. This website, named CarBravo, will aim to create a stronger sense of competition among other car dealerships, in that it will permit users to glimpse inventory that is from other companies in addition to that of General Motors.
Steve Carlisle, General Motors executive vice president and president of General Motors North America, said in a statement: "CarBravo will give customers more choice and access to shop significantly expanded inventories of both the dealer and a national central stock of GM used vehicles. Importantly, the program features will also be offered on non-GM used vehicles. CarBravo is designed to provide customers the convenience to shop how they want, where they want - online, at the dealership or both."
In addition, CarBravo will offer experiences to customers that will be demonstrated through its new digital retail platform (DRP). This experience of DRP will provide a shopping platform that contains dealer costs, vehicle history reports, and 360-degree angles of the cars. In order to abide by the regulations that have been put into place by General Motors, all CarBravo cars need to be inspected and evaluated by the company.
In terms of the future success of General Motors, CarBravo could be an excellent way of gaining renown for the company in a direct-to-consumer method. It also has many benefits, such as standard warranty coverage, extensive service and maintenance across the nation, roadside service, courtesy transportation, and so on.
"Used vehicles are a significant part of our business," stated Todd Ingersoll, dealer principal of Ingersoll Auto in Danbury, Connecticut, quoted by The Verge. "We are excited to join GM in exceeding our customers' expectations and continuing to provide a world-class experience."
In creating an online used car marketplace known as CarBravo, General Motors will surely create a wider variety of selection for consumers to choose from. It will also make a stronger sense of competition among other car dealerships that will give it the chance to be more renowned as an overall company.
