There are tons of articles and videos available that discuss how to handle a losing streak. A seemingly endless library of techniques to pick your head up and get back in there, but not so much on how to handle a winning streak. In some aspects it could be more dangerous to have a streak of winning trades then to have a long stretch of losers. Think about it for a second, if you win you really didn't do anything. You thought a stock would go higher and it did, so you won. If a stock heads lower then you have to manage risk and if you did it well then you learned something. If you did it poorly then you really learned something. Having a winner doesn't teach you much, so today we will give you some tips on how to handle a win streak.

Increase size slowly - In many cases it will be easy to get excited and start swinging for the fences, but I urge you not to. If you can increase you size slowly then if you have a losing trade it wont erase all of your gains. Also, remember that when you increase your size the P&L will be moving around faster and that, in turn will cause more emotion on your part. Slowly increase your size to avoid this.

Don't change your strategy - It is very easy to get wrapped up in the thought of you being able to trade anything and make a profit. Thinking this can cause you to veer off your predefined plan which can lead to disaster. Stick with your plan and enjoy the profits.

You will lose...eventually - Tell yourself this ahead of time 1) to keep your ego in check, but also 2) so you are not devastated that you broke your win streak. Odds are you will have many win streaks in your career, enjoy them while they last and shake it off when they end.
