This past week, it has been announced that McDonald's
BIGHIT MUSIC, record label of BTS, said, regarding this collaboration: "The band has great memories with McDonald's. We're excited about this collaboration and can't wait to share the BTS meal with the world."
It will be available in 50 markets worldwide, and over the next few months, customers will likely experience their favorite musical artists in a much more tangible way. It is expected to boost sales for the summer, especially since it will create "more meaningful, authentic connections with our customers by celebrating the delicious McDonald's food they love," according to Alistair Macrow, Global Chief Marketing Officer at McDonald's.
This particular BTS meal has been created with the intention of mirroring celebrity meals of the past, such as the Travis Scott meal, which was a Quarter Pounder with cheese, fries with barbecue dipping sauce, and a Sprite. It ended up being a very big accomplishment to the point where McDonald's ran out of Quarter Pounders. Given the past success of this particular celebrity meal among others, it is expected that the BTS meal will have just as much, if not more.
"BTS truly lights up the world stage, uniting people across the globe through their music," said Morgan Flatley, Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald's USA.
The meal will be available to order through the mobile order app as well as the drive thru or McDelivery. Celebrity meals, a newer commodity of the world today, is a trend that may be taking hold even more so in the years to come. BTS is surely a musical group that is popular and valuable enough to gain the attention from the celebrity meal, so the success rate of the meal itself will soon be proven.
