For Xbox Series X/S users, the upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate entails a mere $1 for the first month, followed by a monthly fee of $17, according to Kotaku.
Similarly, PC players can access Game Pass for PC, boasting a slightly different game library, at the same initial cost of $1, and subsequently pay $11 per month.
The return of this promotion comes after a price hike in the subscription that was made effective on July 6, along with an increase in the cost of the Xbox Series X console to match the price of Sony Group Corp.'s
Microsoft had offered a $1 trial price for Game Pass in an effort to attract more subscribers. However, they discontinued this offer in March. While the PC version of Game Pass saw an increase in user numbers, the console version struggled to gain new players.
Despite a lack of major first-party releases in 2022, Microsoft aims to release at least one new exclusive game every upcoming quarter. This includes the highly anticipated sci-fi title "Starfield" on September 6, 2023.
