Why It's Important: Netflix highlighted its coverage of different genres in its report, which comes after Sarandos recently said there's no such thing as too much content and the company will continue to add content to please all audiences.

Action, romance and comedy films and series continued to be well-viewed for the streamer. Netflix also highlighted its live comedy specials with "The Roast of Tom Brady" having 22 million viewers.

Reality television and documentaries were also highlighted and have been areas where Netflix had added more content to in recent years.

Netflix has a huge lineup in the second half of 2024, anchored by the highly anticipated second season of "Squid Game" coming on Dec. 26. The first season of "Squid Game" had 46.9 million hours watched in the first half of 2024 with 27.3 million hours of "Squid Game: The Challenge" also watched.

The second half also includes the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson live boxing event and two National Football League games on Christmas Day.

The next engagement report could provide additional details on viewership for live events and what the future could look like for Netflix.
