Porsche Investing in "E-Fuel" Technology

The German carmaker Porsche (OTC: POAHY) has recently announced that they would like to invest about $24 million in order to replace regular fuel, thus serving as an e-fuel that could bring about a grand revolution in the development of electric vehicles.

Electric vehicles are brand new commodities that would enable a great deal of fuel efficiency. They fall under three main categories: battery electric vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and fuel cell vehicles. The sole purpose of electric cars is to serve as a substitute for typical gasoline, and to preserve energy that would typically be burdensome to the environment. Some Porsches have been created as sports models that outshine all the other types of cars that have been made as electric cars. With the new production of e-fuel, the Porsche is foreseen to be the mainline of motorsports, particularly within the e-fuel industry.

E-fuel is a new trend that is spreading widely all throughout other companies such as Siemens (OTC: SIEGY) and AME. It is expected for Porsche to partner with these other companies in order for more e-fuel to be produced. The Porsche, at a plant located in Chile, was in particular chosen to be a customer for the e-fuel because it will be a test subject fueled by wind energy.

The process of e-fuel is very complex. It utilizes water, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide. The CO2 is then taken from the air to be filtered, and brought together with hydrogen morphed together as one whole unit. The result of this chemical bonding is also referred to as 'renewable methanol,' which can be turned into gasoline.

E-fuel, in addition to being safe for our environment and overall more effective for the planet, has proven to be more convenient. There are car chargers that can be found in parking garages, shopping centers, work places, etc., and also can be utilized within one's own home. Although e-fuel is not what we are accustomed to across the global, we are likely to see it become more popular especially with the pandemic on the rise, in order that we can further preserve the purity of our environment. While it may not be the most cost efficient choice, the benefits may prove to outweigh the negatives in the end.
