Spotify Technology SA
Launched in the U.K. and Australia earlier this year, the beta feature is now available to more users as Spotify continues refining its AI-driven service.
The AI Playlist, accessible within Spotify's mobile app, allows users to create customized playlists by simply describing what they want to hear.
Subscribers can find this new tool by tapping the "+" button at the top right of their library and selecting "AI Playlist" from the drop-down menu. From there, they can describe their desired playlist, such as "spooky songs for Halloween" or "upbeat music for a workout."
As the service evolves, Spotify's AI continues to "actively learn and iterate with each exchange," according to an official statement from the company.
How It Works
When users submit a text description, the AI generates a playlist of 30 songs, which can be further refined based on feedback. The tool recognizes descriptions of genres, moods, decades or specific artists.
The AI Playlist beta is currently available only on Spotify's mobile app, leaving desktop and web app users waiting for future updates.
