Retail giant Walmart Inc.
Starting later this year, Walmart+ members will gain 24/7 virtual access to veterinary professionals through a partnership with Pawp, a digital health clinic for pets.
This addition aims to provide convenience and peace of mind to pet owners, especially as traditional veterinary costs rise and access to care becomes more challenging.
Walmart+ initially piloted Pawp as a limited-time offer last year, knowing that over 75% of its members are pet owners.
Observing its popularity, the membership program decided to incorporate Pawp as a permanent feature to enhance member experience.
Pawp's Key Features: Pawp connects pet owners with veterinary professionals for expert support, whether for a second opinion or general guidance. The service includes:
- Affordable care: Free for Walmart+ members, saving $99 on standalone memberships.
- Expert support: In-house veterinary team with at least five years of clinical experience.
- 24/7 access: Unlimited on-demand virtual visits via text and video.
- Personalized plans: Post-visit care plans with product recommendations.
Besides the new Pawp benefit, Walmart serves as a one-stop destination for pet needs, offering automatic deliveries on frequently purchased pet products, an online pet pharmacy, and a wide range of pet products at everyday low prices.
Walmart+ is priced at $98 per year or $12.95 per month, offering a blend of digital and in-store benefits, including unlimited free deliveries, fuel and travel discounts, early access to promotions and events, Paramount+ streaming, and free home returns.
