Markets were mixed to start the week even as oil has a 5% up day. The Dow 30 green again today for the 5th straight day gaining 39 points (0.23%). The Nasdaq finished in the red by 8 points (-0.19%) and the S&P 500 was basically flat, only posting 1 point (0.08%).Marvell Technology (MRVL ) had a nice 4.31% day today as the New York Post is reporting that the semiconductor maker is open to a sale, and a possible buyer is Broadcom (NASDAQ: BRCM), the product of a giant recently-closed merger between Avago (AVGO ) and Broadcom. Shares closed the day at new 2016 highs.
Shares of Amazon (AMZN ) suffered a 2.15% drop today as the online retail giant reversed its decision over its Fire tablet encryption. Amazon removed disk encryption when it released Fire OS 5 last year. The company said it will return the option for full disk encryption with a Fire OS update this spring.
Lastly shares of Dunkin' Brands (DNKN ) were off by 2.43% today as the company was downgraded by Guggenheim from buy to neutral, citing fewer potential drivers for upside in future earnings reports. Although shares were down today, Dunkin still out performs the market and remains near yearly highs.
